Vintage F & JL Made In England Silver Plated Footed Clamshell Serving Dish. Hinged lid with thumb tab on back. This piece has a glass insert and may have been used for serving butter, caviar, or sauces. There is an opening for a serving utensil, which is unfortunately missing.
The clamshell is in good “pre-owned” condition featuring a beaded trim around the scalloped edges. 3 small rounded feet on bottom. Marked on hinge.
Wear is consistent with age. Some tarnishing and light scratches.
Unique treasure! Could also be used for a trinket/jewelry dish.
